Regarding the apology page, I'm sure I saw a website that was pretty much just that. Irritatingly I can't find it any more (Google is only good if you don't know what you're looking for!). The closest thing I've found is this:

This old browser is still the biggest pain in the neck to every job I work on. There is always some complaint it doesn't look right on Mary's laptop,... why well cause it is ie6.<br>I think we should refuse to even consider it any longer and we should look at it this way, if 20% of our market were to arrive to our restaurant with a credit card which was too expensive and too much hassle to deal with then we should refuse to serve them.
